Blackened Salmon

  • 4 salmon filets

  • Beautiful Briny Sea Salt Blend or Himalayan Pink Salt )

  • Freshly Cracked Black pepper

  • Garlic powder

  • Low sodium all purpose or cajun seasoning of choice

  • ½  lemon

  • Grapeseed or Avocado oil

  1. Prep Salmon- Pat salmon dry with paper towels. Next, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and all purpose/cajun seasoning to taste.

  2. Sear- Place cast iron or stainless steel pan on medium-high heat and lightly coat in oil. Once oil is heated, add salmon presentation side down (the side without skin). After about 5 minutes or when salmon starts to blacken, flip. Sear for another 5 minutes, or until it milks (white liquid begins to come out then gently remove from pan.

  3. Finishing Touches- Remove it from heat and squeeze fresh lemon juice on top.
